Visit the French Wine Country
This full day tour leaves Paris early morning, and arrive at Reims around 10 AM. Reims is in the middle of the champagne region, and we'll start our tour by visiting the Gothic cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and site of the coronations of the Kings of France, followed a short introduction to the city.
Next you'll visit the famous Mumm Champagne cellars for a guided tour, where you will learn about the secrets behind their many champagnes. Here you'll get the chance to taste the famous 'Red Ribbon' champagne, one of the most popular champagnes in the world.
Afterwards it's time for lunch (not included) on your own in the center of Reims. Reims has an excellent selection of cafes and bistros and offers a typically French setting for lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll drive to Epernay passing la Montagne de Reims. Once we arrive in Epernay, you'll visit your second champagne house of the day, Mercier, founded in 1858. You will travel by automated train to a depth of 100 feet to visit the huge cellars, before finishing your tour with a champagne tasting.
We'll leave Epernay at 4 PM and return to Paris around 6:30 PM.
The tour is operated in English.
